More Than a Software Development Company
Contal was established in the 1980s as a travel agency that provided expert advice to the community. Our deep understanding of the travel and tourism sector fuelled our leap into technology in the 90s, leading us to develop a piece of game-changing technology.
We were the very first company to build software that allowed its users to compare and book domestic airfares, accommodation, car hire and vacation activities on a single screen. We released this technology to the world in 2003, and kept up the momentum. In 2004, we were the first company in the world to demo flight bookings on mobile phones using a WAP (wireless application protocol) browser. Through our interest with WAP we were ahead of the game with app development, and added to our list of firsts by being the first company to release a travel booking app in the App Store in 2009.

Alongside our projects in software development and travel, we also work across sectors such as automation, business management, property and construction, vocational education and training, hospitality, and aged care.
