Amadeus Australia delivers technology interface for Travelthere.com

Sydney 7 May 2003: Amadeus Australia and the Contal Travel Group have entered into a new technology agreement, whereby Amadeus provides the connectivity for Travelthere.com, a division of the Contal Travel Group which is leading the way in the provision of comprehensive and convenient online travel solutions. In effect, this agreement allows travellers to have access to up to the minute seat availability at the best possible airfare.

Travelthere.com is a booking engine that allows travellers to easily and efficiently book flights, accommodation, tours, car hire and travel insurance throughout Australia. "Built using the Amadeus Application Programming Interface (API), Travelthere.com uses an XML interface to communicate with the Amadeus Reservation System and is capable of delivering airline related schedule, fare, availability and advance booking functionality," commented Mr Paul Martin, General Manager Sales and Marketing, Amadeus Australia.

Mr Peter Biedak, Director of Contal Information Technology said "Travelthere.com is a solution that allows customers to evaluate all options interactively and make an informed decision to buy online, quickly and simply. We chose to develop this product with Amadeus as their unique Application Programming Interface (API) allowed us to develop and build a customised application that transparently accesses the Amadeus system."

"Travelthere.com utilises a Client Management Database, allowing travellers to store personal preferences such as preferred airlines and loyalty memberships. All this information can be seamlessly transferred to the traveller's reservation, saving time and improving accuracy," concluded Mr Biedak.
